Where we got the name...

Our name derives from the Regent Bowerbird which inhabits the rain forests of Australia. This colorful bird tirelessly hunts down an eclectic assortment of brightly colored objects with which to adorn its bower. The word "Mongo" is a slang term for any castoff which becomes another person's treasure.

Since it opened on August 19, 2005, Bowerbird Mongo has gotten some wonderful press coverage. Below are a few of the articles that have appeared in local publications.
